China Visit, November 2010

Introduction:
I was invited to give a mini-course in approximation and interpolation by Linyi University for the fall of 2010, and had the opportunity to go there in November, 2010. I also took the opportunity to accept an invitation to give a seminar at Sun Yat-Sen University, where my old PhD student, Suming Fang, is now teaching.

A photographic account of my travels is given below:

The trip was phenomenal. Having had the opportunity to visit Hong Kong and so much of China was spectacular, especially having the opportunity to visit the Great Wall of China and the Forbidden City, as well as Qufu, Mount Taishan and other sites in and around the city of Linyi in China. I have grateful to Ping Zhao, Zhaozhong Zhang, and Wei Zheng for accompanying me on my excursions and for taking the time to show and inform me of the details and history behind much of the sights I saw.a I was also pleased to meet up again with Tongsong Jiang again, who was at USM as a visitor the year before.
